CCTV Privacy Notice

How 1 King’s Dental uses security cameras, how long recordings are kept and who to contact about your information.

This page brings together the CCTV information in our practice Privacy Notice. Please read it alongside our full Privacy Notice.

01 · Purpose

Why we use CCTV

We use CCTV to help protect the premises, support the safety of patients, visitors and staff, deter criminal activity, assist in identifying offenders and provide evidence where required for a court or tribunal.

CCTV recordings may contain images of people within the cameras’ field of view. For information about camera coverage at the practice you are visiting, please contact Firoz Khan using the details below.

02 · Retention

How long recordings are kept

In line with our practice Privacy Notice, CCTV images are kept for three months and then destroyed securely. Recordings may be kept for longer where needed for an investigation or legal proceedings.

Recorded images are private. Requests to use or disclose footage are considered in accordance with our data protection responsibilities.

03 · Disclosure

Sharing CCTV information

Relevant recordings may be provided to the police, law enforcement authorities or courts where there is a lawful basis to do so, including where required for an investigation or legal proceedings.

For more information about how the practice handles personal information, please see our Privacy Notice.

04 · Your information

Requesting access to footage

To ask about CCTV information relating to you or request access to a recording, contact Firoz Khan. To help us find a relevant recording, tell us the practice location, approximate date and time, and where you were at the premises.

We may need to confirm your identity and clarify your request. Access is subject to applicable data protection law and the rights of other people who may appear in the recording; footage may need to be redacted.

You can also ask about your other data protection rights, including the right to object to processing and, where applicable, request restriction or erasure. These rights are not absolute and depend on the circumstances. Contact us promptly because recordings are retained for a limited period.
